British Asian kids and an ABC (American Born Chinese). We had the privilege of access to two cultures growing up. The one that came from our immigrant households and the place we grew up in.
WE REALLY LOVE TO EAT
We took on "there's food at home" to a whole new level, took the elements of an Asian bakery and you know what, people are riding the waves with us.
TEAM MEMBER PROFILES
Hinley Chan, we joke that he can't do much but realistically, he is the muscle man who cares a lot about providing the most worth it time for everyone). He is the backend, logistics and big brain for making sure we can keep this business alive. He won't sugarcoat anything but that means you get a very straightforward answer to anything. That means new ideas must be really thought through. That means emojis won't come with the text messages. That means you have exactly what you ask for from him, if he's willing to give it. Probably not one of our recipes.
Phoebe Lao, can sometimes scare our reserved customers with that super optimistic Californian accent. She is most likely your first point of contact when buying or messaging from us for the first time, always on the social media pages, and probably eating our cookies somewhere.
HONORARY MENTION
Phillip Ho is a classically trained chef who was the backend for a full year and a half of working with us. He's now gone onto a different career path that allows him to explore fine dining and his individual interests more. We're incredibly happy for him and thankful for all his efforts in creating long lasting recipes, implementing professional kitchen techniques and practices, and of course bringing a steady, chill vibe to the team.
We all grew up knowing food as our primary love language. We wouldn't sell the food we make if we wouldn't buy it ourselves. From different versions of the original Hong Kong pineapple bun ( aka Bolo Bao "菠蘿包") to Japanese milk bread ( aka Shokupan "食パン") to an Italian favourite, the focaccia, we bake and make everything ourselves.
